The Canon G3 is equipped with a 4x zoom reaching from 35-140mm. For the most part this is quite sufficient, but sometimes I’ve been missing a little more tele zoom. So, I’ve decided to order the Olympus TCON-17 1.7x teleconverter lens, which extends the tele range to about 238mm. According to web resources, this lens is just as good or even better than the comparable Canon lense. One thing you have to keep in mind though, you’ll have only a very small zoom range until vignetting becomes visible. My guess would be, that you’ll have a zoom range from 210 to 238mm for the complete optical system.

While scanning my film negatives I came across this picture. It was taken sometime in the middle of 1992 and shows my Atari ST, which I was using at the time. It was tuned with a “Gadgets by Small” 68030 board carrying the TOS 3.05 from the Atari TT system and additional 68030 local memory (that was the time, when a little bit of aluminium was enough to cool a 32bit processor). Above the keyboard more to the right is a self build 2MB memory extension. Come to think of it, it must have been 4MB actually. I used 1Mbit used DRAM chips, if I remember correctly and 32 of them would make 4MB.

Das habe ich heute vorgefunden, als ich von der Arbeit nach Hause kam. Bevor der Rest der Familie in Richtung Schwiegereltern abgedampft ist, hat Sohni Steffen noch mit diesem Quarkgebäck meiner gedacht. Danke Steffen.

Tja, es ist wirklich so. Im Mai vor 25 Jahren habe ich mein Abitur mit einem Notendurchschnitt von ca 2,8 bestanden.Keine super Nummer, aber das, was mit minimalem Aufwand erreichbar war. Ich selbst hätte da natürlich nie dran gedacht, das es jetzt 25 Jahre her sind, wenn nicht heute eine Einladung in der Post gewesen wäre, die zu einer Silber-Abi-Feier am 21. Mai 2005 einlädt.

Gehe ich oder gehe ich nicht ist hier die große Frage. Ich glaube, die meisten Leute beschleicht bei so etwas wohl ein warmes nostalgisches Gefühl im Bauch. Nicht so hier. Ich blicke auf die Schulzeit eigentlich mit relativer Gleichgültigkeit zurück. Da ich ca. 10Km vom meiner Schule entfernt wohne, hat sich nie so die Gelegenheit für wirklich engere Kontakte außerhalb der Schule ergeben, auch wenn ich dann mit 16 mit einem fahrbaren Untersatz ausgestattet war. Hin und wieder hat man sich schon getroffen, aber ich weiss nicht. Wenn dann war der Mittelpunkt immer die Clique in meinem Heimatort. Naja, ich muss die Zusage erst bis zum 15. April abgeliefert haben. Ich kann mir das also noch etwas durch den Bauch gehen lassen.

So, this is it, my personalization of the default WordPress Kubrick theme. At the very least is it different from the default. All colours are derived from this theme. I guess, the corners of the blue border still need a bit work.
