Turns out, that my Gericom laptop with P4 processor is pretty sensible to overheating. In this instance the table cloth on the desk was enough to reduce the air flow, that once my son was playing a computing intensive game for a certain period, the laptop simply stopping working with a black screen. The remedy were these walnut cooling improvers, which provided again for enough air flow.

I’ve been thinking about updating my older PC (Elitegroup K7A5 MoBo with 266 FSB), which currently has a AMD Duron 1200 MHz and SD-Ram installed, to a newer AMD XP 2400 MHz including new DDR-Ram. I’ve now checking the computer magazines and online dealers, what such a thing would cost and I must find, that there aren’t any available any more. The best thing, which can be had is a AMD XP 2200 MHz. So I will need to make up my mind quickly, otherwise all AMD processors with 266 FSB will be sold out.

I received an email this morning just as Matthew did. So, in the end I got my ridderbusch.net domain back, but still this whole bloghosts business leaves me mightyly pissed off. No reaction for more than a month. Somehow I can’t believe, that they had so many customers, that all those domain transfers really took more than a month to process.

So, I end up with two domains, one of which isn’t really necessary, but who knows, when I can make use of it. Just as with good software design you can see, that decoupling would have been a good thing in the first place. The lesson to be learned from all this is to keep your domains and web hosting apart.
